          As per the guidelines of UGC and the suggestions of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), a post-accreditation quality sustenance measuring unit,  was established in the year 2013to build and ensure a quality culture. The IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the college. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process,the IQAC becomes a part of the institution and work towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.The IQAC functions with an objective of executing the recommendations made by NAAC Peer Team during their last visit in the academic year 2012-13.

Action Taken Report : Peer Team Exit Meeting Recommendations 2012-13

The recommendations given by the Peer team at the time of exit meeting and the action taken are summarized.

  1. More job oriented courses (aided or self-financed) are to be introduced.

The students of the college are belonging to economically deprived category and they are depending on Government for financial assistance. Hence they are not affordable to pay the fee structure of self-financing courses, as prescribed by the affiliating University. However, the college has organised some programmes for the students to appear for the competitive examinations and to have                         self-employment.

  1. ICT Exposure and communication skills of the students to be strengthened.

ICT enabled class rooms are created and oral examination is conducted for the students to improve the English communication skills.

  1. Faculty members may be encouraged to participate in seminars and conferences outside the state and publish papers in refereed journals.

Faculty members are encouraged to participate in seminars and conferences and they have participated/presented research papers in seminars and conferences and published many papers in refereed journals.

  1. Institution to organize sufficient training programs for the faculty, staff and students in the use of computers, internet, computer Aid packages etc.

Members of faculty and Non-teaching staff have got sufficient knowledge about the use of computers and internet through training programmes. For students, they are trained in the computer lab and internet centre.

  1. Faculty members may be encouraged to take up major and minor research projects from UGC, ICSelf Study Report (SSR), CSIR, DST, etc.

One minor project is received from the UGC.

  1. Laboratories and class rooms are to be maintained properly.

Laboratories and class rooms are maintained properly by cleaning at regular intervals and by doing minor repair works now and then.

  1. Management has to pay more attention in running the college more effectively and teachers should concentrate on remedial coaching to weak students for improving the results.

  1. Automation of the Library is the need of the hour and more professional journals may be subscribed.

           The proposal for the automation of library is sent to the Management. The management has given its concern to equip the library before May 2018.

  1. Participation of women students in inter-collegiate competitions and sports activities are to be encouraged more effectively.

Women students are encouraged to participate in the intra and inter collegiate level sports competitions and won many prizes. Also in other competitions they have won medals.

  1. Alumni association is to be strengthened and resources from the alumni may be collected for the development of the college.

FEEDBACK - IQAC Meetings

As per the regulations of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) meetings of the college were periodically conducted to collect the feedback report from various Stakeholders, to analyse the design of curriculum, infrastructure, transport facilities, etc. and to implement the various remedies for the betterment of students society.



  • Staff meetings were arranged to discuss the feedback mechanism.
  • Field work and mini – projects were to be planned for the students.
  • Faculty members were asked to prepare thoroughly for their classes.
  • Subjects were allotted based on the area of specialization and the interest level of the faculty members
  • The Head of the Departments arranged staff meetings to discuss the feedback mechanism. Students are motivated to use the library facilities for their preparation.
  • The faculty members studied the complexity level of the used text books.
  • More reading practices were given to the students.
  • Faculty members were asked to plan for more pertinent field work in their respective subjects.
  • The department level staff meetings were performed by concerned Head of the Departments to discuss the components available. Students are motivated to use ICT facilities for presenting Seminars and for doing assignments.
  • Faculty members were asked to prepare well for their classes.
  • Subject allotment was prepared based on the area of specialization of the faculty members.
  • The faculty members analysed the difficulty level of the used text books.
  • More reading practices were given to the students. Faculty members instructed the students to utilize the library facilities.
  • Spoken English classes were arranged to improve the communication skills of the students. 
  • The Head of the departments organized their respective departmental meetings and insisted on a good rapport between the student and the teacher. It is decided that the heads of the concerned department will check the teacher student relationship in the institutions
  • In order to bring in more practices in teaching and learning, the faculty members are asked to espouse innovative practices in their teaching learning process. The dissemination of ICT in teaching learning process is persuaded
  • The Head of departments asked their respective department staff members to check and list out the library sources available for their paper. The same knowledge was passed on to the students.

    Parents’ feed back

  • Only few parents were satisfied with their student’s academic progress. The Heads were asked to look into their departmental semester result analysis report and to organize and plan for their individual department progress. Remedial and coaching classes if crucial could be conducted.
  • Parents welcomed the office bearers for their extended support
  • Motivation and guidance offered by the faculty members were adequate.
  • The infrastructure facility offered by the college is valued. Few parents proposed for Wi-Fi enable campus
  • Teachers’ feedback

  • Many teachers felt that the books prescribed as reference materials are relevant, updated and appropriate to the syllabus. Few teachers were not satisfied. The heads were asked to look into the matter and if needed the same must be brought to the notice of the Board of Studies.
  • The faculty members appreciated the good balance between theory and application. They also felt that their course content is followed by reference materials.
  • The faculty members are encouraged to make use of the funds for upgrading their skills and qualifications.
  • The faculty members are motivated to adopt new techniques and strategies of testing and assessment of students
  • It was also felt that the objectives of the syllabi are well defined and clear to teachers and students.
  • Students’ feedback

  • It is decided that the heads will look into the proper efficacy of the infrastructure facilities available. Students are given awareness about the infra structure facilities available in the college. They are also encouraged to make use of the facilities inside the college premises
  • It is enforced that the laboratories should be utilized properly. The Head of departments systematized the departmental meetings and enquired if the faculty members adequately furnish and maintain the laboratory with the help of lab assistants. Laboratory works by the students are recorded. The heads checked for the proper utilization of the laboratory equipments
  • Department wise staff meetings were arranged to discuss the feedback system.
  • Field work, Mini–projects, Spoken English classes and ICT enabled classes were planned for the students.

  • Our institution strongly believes in holistic development and value building of the student. Hence their feedback is highly valued.
  • The responses gathered via the student feedback survey helps us to identify areas of improvement in curriculum delivery and evaluation methods.
  • Feedbacks about the infrastructural facilities are also taken for improving the lab facilities, if any. The usage of ICT tools in teaching learning process is recommended.
  • Further it measures parameters like Subject knowledge, Teaching aids used, methodology etc. which is analysed by college personnel for taking appropriate decisions for improving the infrastructure and quality of teaching learning process.
  • This survey helps the institution to understand what they are doing well already and what are the areas of improvement they need is focused on.
  • The IQAC has evolved a formal mechanism to collect feedback on programme from students.
  • The Institute obtains feedback in terms of structured questionnaires through online at the end of academic year.
  • The final year students are approached for their feedback on overall satisfaction with the curriculum and Institution.
  • The ultimate aim of stakeholder’s feedback is to get useful insights for the purpose of improvement in all aspects of teaching, learning, assessment and capacity.
  • Data obtained in the feedback process was analysed with percentage analysis. Pie charts were used to present interpretation and findings of the feedback.

  • It is noticed that, majority of students have responded that, the syllabus is creating interest in them. There is a scope for the teachers to create interest among the students about the syllabus.
  • It is imposed that the laboratories should be adequately equipped and properly maintained. The staff members check for the proper utilization of the laboratory equipments.
  • It is observed that, many students have said availability of the reference books is good. It is acclaimed to buy more reference books in the college.
  • It is found that, the teacher’s regularity to class is good. Therefore, it is recommended to the teacher’s that, they should maintain the regularity and improve it to satisfy all the students.
  • Teacher’s presentation and communication skills are acceptable. The rate of the student – teacher relationship in the institution and in all the departments is satisfactory. Further departmental meetings are conducted to insist on maintaining a good rapport between the student and the teacher.
  • The teacher’s preparation to class is good. It is recommended to the teachers that they should continue in preparing to classes on regular basis.
  • The staff members are motivated to promote innovative practices in theirlectures. The practice of ICT tools in teaching learning process is suggested.
  • Guidance and mentoring play a vital role in the development of students learning process. It is found that, students are satisfied with guidance and mentoring by the teachers in the college. It is recommended to the teachers to improve the guidance and mentoring process.
